Nea Makri borders to the north with Marathon, to the south with Rafina, to the west with the massif of Pentelikos and Dionysos, while to the east it is washed by the South Euboikos along a coastline of approximately 14 km. The city center is 32 km from Athens via Mesogion and Marathon Avenues. It is 12 km from “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport via Marathon Avenue and Attica Road. It still has access from Old Penteli via Penteli Avenue and from Kifissia and Ekali via Dionysos Avenue.
Nea Makri is a central city of Eastern Attica that combines urban characteristics and holiday character in an important transport hub with Marathon Avenue connecting Nea Makri to the center of Athens and Dionysos Street connecting Nea Makri to the northern suburbs of Athens . The two main roads intersect above the city center, just south of the Sports Park – former American Base. The city center is a purely urban area with heavy traffic all year round, there are countless cafes on the seaside Poseidon Avenue while the restaurants and grills are located inland near the central square, many department stores and grills are located along Marathon Avenue.
